Zhu An (祝安, Zhù Ān) was a trainee at the Royal Holy Pavilion atop of Taicang Mountain who was responsible for guarding the entrance of the Sixiang Pavilion.[1]
Appearance[]
Zhu An is a decent, plain-looking young man[2] dressed in white robes.[1]
Personality[]
While not much is known about him as a person, it is evident that he respects authority figures and people of royal status since he is obedient towards them.[2] Zhu An tries to leave a good impression and denies his wrong-doings in front of them.[1]
In contrary to this, he seems to look down upon people of lower upbringing, since he is known for bullying and picking on Mu Qing.[1]
History[]
There is no information regarding his background, but he was a disciple at the Roly Holy Pavilion the same time as Xie Lian and Mu Qing.[1]
Zhu An refused Mu Qing entrance to Sixiang Pavilion when he came to deliver a message to Mei Nianqing the day before the Shangyuan Festival parade. Even though Mu Qing begged him, Zhu An wouldn't let him in and was unwilling to pass on the word himself either, taunting Mu Qing and ultimately booting him out. Thus Mu Qing was forced to go around and deliver the message through the window, which Mei Nianqing never ended up hearing.[3]
He was later at the forefront of the group that harassed Mu Qing after he picked cherries on the mountain, claiming he was stealing them and that he's at fault for what happened at the Shangyuan Festival. When he was about to assault Mu Qing, Xie Lian interrupts the dispute. Upon seeing him, Zhu An immediately stops the aggression and apologizes to Xie Lian along with the other trainees before leaving.[1]
Zhu An was also present when Hua Cheng attracted all the resentful spirits on the mountain, which led to the Xianle Pavilion being set on fire.[4]
