Summary[]
Xie Lian tells Qi Rong to shut his mouth to stop revealing the truth behind the massacre in the Gilded Banquet. The event takes place with him, along with Hua Cheng and Lang Qianqiu, inside Qi Rong’s territory.
Qi Rong says if it wasn't for Xie Lian, Lang Qianqiu would’ve died at the age of twelve at their hands. At that time, he was kidnapped by muggers. Lang Qianqiu becomes frustrated and cries, since his parents’ greatest wish was to reunite two kingdoms but they died at the cost of that.
Suddenly, Lang Qianqiu uses his sword and cuts Qi Rong in half, he then grabs his head and throws it in the cauldron. He repeats his actions until almost nothing remains. Xie Lian is worried since Lang Qianqiu never used such cruel methods. Hua Cheng speaks up and states Qi Rong is still in this world, if Lang Qianqiu truly wants revenge he should get his ashes and scatter them.
Lang Qianqiu leaves with that idea in mind, Xie Lian is dumbfounded why the truth was so necessary for Hua Cheng. He replies it’s important to know what is done and what isn’t done by him. Xie Lian doesn’t care if he’s the only one getting blamed, since killing is the same way either way. Besides, Xie Lian killed an righteous person such as Lang Qianqiu’s father, thus he deserves to take on all the blame.
