To Meet You in the Mortal Realm; To Find Flowers Beneath the Rain (世中逢尔雨中逢花, Shì Zhōng Féng Ěr Yǔ Zhōng Féng Huā) is the 72nd chapter of the Heaven Official's Blessing novel.
Summary[]
Xie Lian registers Mu Qing’s wise words that he cannot save everybody. Xie Lian doesn't respond and goes to the royal palace.
He sees his mother fiddling with his golden mask from the Heavenly Procession Ceremony and his father is right beside her. The King of Xianle asks for a massage, which the Queen obeys to do so. She says he has more white hair than before, he dismisses and says he’ll dye it black again.
The King of Xianle can’t rest for now, because Yong'an refugees have come to Xianle and they’re making people feel uneasy. His father says not to mention any of this to Xie Lian because he wants his son to have a carefree life in the heavens. The Queen wishes heartily for Xie Lian to come back.
Xie Lian goes out of the palace to find answers in his disguise, he finds out the water level within Xianle is lower than the previous years. It was to verify Mu Qing’s claims, they’re indeed true since he has never let Xie Lian down before.
It starts raining and a passerby gives Xie Lian a red umbrella. He sees an inconspicuous shrine and walks towards it to meet Feng Xin and Mu Qing. It’s only a clay statue with few fruits as offerings. He looks closely and sees a small flower, white as snow on the hand of the statue.
Xie Lian senses hurried footsteps coming, so he hides. A young boy barges in, he might be twelve or thirteen and his clothes are soaked. The boy opens his hand, revealing the same flower on his statue.
