Summary[]
Honghong-er stuffs his face in Xie Lian’s chest and wails. Everyone is shaken by his cries, it sounds nothing how would a ten year old would cry.
Guoshi and Feng Xin try to convince Xie Lian to let go of him but fail at doing so. Zhu An goes to pull off the child because he’s smeering his snot and blood all over Xie Lian. Honghong-er however clings onto him tightly like a monkey.
Eventually, he fell asleep due to exhaustion. Xie Lian tucks him in the divan to bring him to the Sixiang Pavilion. Xie Lian asks Guoshi if there’s a way to take down his misfortune.
Guoshi reminds him when Xie Lian was six, he asked if two walked in the desert and were about to die from thirst. There’s only one cup, if he was a god, who would Xie Lian give it to? He answered that he'll bring another cup. Feng Xin and Mu Qing answered differently from him. Guoshi explains that fortunes in this world are limited, just like cups of water. He adds it’s difficult to change someone’s fate without influencing another.
Guoshi permits Xie Lian to travel for a while since he’s seventeen soon. In the very night, Honghong-er escaped the Royal Holy Pavilion.
After Xie Lian travels, he defeats a demon at the Yi Nian Bridge and ascends. This is a shock to the three realms.
