Three Clowns, Night Discussion on the Palace of Tremendous Masculinity II (三活宝夜谈巨阳殿, Sān Huóbǎo Yè Tán Jù Yáng Diàn) is the 5th chapter of the Heaven Official's Blessing novel.
Summary[]
Xie Lian asks Fu Yao and Nan Feng if it's their first time seeing a Cursed Shackle. Although the two have heard of it before, they're still quite shocked to see it in person. A Cursed Shackle is a symbol for being banished from the Heavens. They block spiritual powers and could never be broken.
Xie Lian tries to go outside and get something to wear, but they stop him, saying it would be obscene to run around topless. Nan Feng gives him clothes that were inside the temple instead. The atmosphere between them has turned slightly awkward and thus, they clear up the question as to why Feng Xin had so many female believers.
It turns out, before Feng Xin had the title "Nan Yang" he used to be called "Ju Yang". Originally the name was supposed to be spelled as Ju Yang (Altogether Bright), but once a monarch mispelled it when he wrote a temple plaque and it became Ju Yang (Tremendous Masculinity). The official who was responsible for the temple couldn't figure out if the monarch made a mistake or if Feng Xin's title had changed. In the end, he didn't say anything and researched with scholars for reasons as to why it's spelled as Tremendous Masculinity and soon, all the plaques of the nation had the title changed. Feng Xin only noticed a decade later as more and more women came praying to him, asking for sons. He was extremely enraged when he found out what happened, but he couldn't do anything about it. He endured it for a few years until he finally changed his title to Nan Yang.
Fu Yao makes fun of the tale, which causes Nan Feng to tell him to go sweep the floor. Due to Mu Qing being a royal servant as a mortal and doing chores all day long, people of the Xuan Zhen palace were extremely sensitive about such remarks. They start to fight with Xie Lian being unable to stop them. He goes and picks up a steamed bun, wanting to eat it, but the other two immediately stop arguing and Nan Feng stops him. Xie Lian scolds them to never throw away food, but Nan Feng says to not eat if it fell to the floor.
The next day they're at the teahouse again. They're discussing how to go about capturing the Ghost Bridegroom when suddenly a group of people outside walk by carrying a marriage sedan. Xie Lian notices they all seem very nervous and also that the "bride" inside the sedan seems unnatural. Moments later, the head of the bride falls onto the street with her body following after.
