The Ghost Takes a Bride, the Crown Prince Mounts the Bridal Sedan (鬼娶亲太子上花轿, Guǐ Qǔqīn Tàizǐ Shàng Huājiào) is the 6th chapter of the Heaven Official's Blessing novel.
Summary[]
The people carrying the sedan notice that the "bride" has been killed. It turns out that it was a puppet used to try and lure out the Ghost Bridegroom, as the father of the last bride gone missing offered a huge amount of money for whoever catches them. As they have failed to capture the ghost, a young man named Xiao-Pengtou emerges from the crowd and says they should just head directly into Yu Jun Mountain instead of trying any more schemes.
Rumors have been spreading among the people that the Ghost Bridegroom was very ugly and because nobody wanted them, they began kidnapping brides. Another rumor is that they're covered in bandages and can't speak.
Suddenly Xiao-Ying speaks up and warns the crowd not to go there as it is very dangerous. As her and Xiao-Pengtou start to argue, he insults and pushes her as he speaks. Apparently, Xiao-Ying was originally supposed to disguise herself as a bride to help them with catching the Ghost Bridegroom, but she refused. Not being able to take it any longer, Xie Lian steps in and protects her, the young man getting hurt and accusing Xie Lian for using dark arts in the process. He asks her to have tea with her, but she quickly leaves.
Xie Lian decides to talk to Ling Wen in the communication array again, asking if there's any more information on the Ghost Bridegroom. She confirms that it's a Savage level ghost, thus the Ghost Bridegroom is relatively strong. It's explained that there are 4 different ranks regarding power when it came to ghosts, 'Malice', 'Menace', 'Savage' and 'Supreme' → (See Main Article: Ghosts).
They conclude that to catch the ghost, they must deliver a living person. They're aware that it's near impossible to quickly find a person who's willing to act as bait so in the end Xie Lian takes that role. Later in the evening they're back at Nan Yang temple, Xie Lian already dressed in a bride's wedding robes. As they notice how he barely fits into them, Xiao-Ying visits the temple to see them. She brings back the robe Xie Lian borrowed to her and offers to help them as she's experienced with sewing and make up.
Later, deep in the middle of the night, Xie Lian steps into the prepared sedan.
