Spells

With the use of spiritual powers, it is possible to perform various spells.

Ascending Fire Dragon Spell

A spell that conjurs a fire column in the shape of a dragon that would not cause any harm. It takes a lot of spiritual powers to cast and when misused could cause the destruction of one's spiritual core. Because of the inherent danger in casting it, the spell is only used as a last resort for Heavenly Officials in grave danger since the fire dragon would be visible from heaven.

Cloning

Heavenly Officials and ghosts can create clones that they can control. These clones can look completely different from the actual person and one can have multiple at once.

Command Talisman

Forces the target to obey the castor’s commands. Can only perform simple tasks such as ‘walk,’ ‘stop,’ or ‘run.’ Complicated actions are even more difficult to execute, and the talisman also may not have the capability to do so.

Daruma Doll Spell

Turns a being into a daruma doll. The victim is unable to speak when in that form. It can scream, shake or spin, but movements are limited. A cloud of red smoke appears when transforming.

Hand Locking Spell

Secures the hand and locks it in place.

Invisibility Spell (Camouflage Spell)

Causes an object or person to become invisible.

Palm Torch

A small flame that emits from the palm of the one that cast the spell and is usually used to illuminate dark areas. It doesn't require much spiritual power and is very durable.

Petrification Spell

Like its name, it makes one unable to move.

Shield

By raising one's hand and loudly uttering the command "shield", it's possible to create an invisible, magical shield. When two powerful Heavenly Officials create one together, it's strong enough to even withstand Hua Cheng's butterflies, as proven by Feng Xin and Mu Qing.

Soul Shifting Spell

Switches the souls of two bodies. It is said when shifting, there is a weightless sensation like being pulled into the air violently and then plunging back down. It consumes a large amount of spiritual power.

Soundproof Spell

It prevents people outside from hearing the noise inside a room.

Thousand Pounds Spell

It makes the user a thousand pounds. It can be useful in situations where your body is unstable.

Transformation Spell

Allows the user to transform into various appearances, such as a younger version of themselves, completely different people or themselves as the opposite sex. Sometimes certain objects are needed to perform the spell, such as a lock of hair. The more familiar someone is with a person, the easier it is for that someone to transform into said person.

Distance Shortening Array

A hand-drawn array that can teleport multiple people to a place. The strength of the spell depends on the power of the caster and drawing material. For example, a god's blood is much stronger than a mortal's. The array consists of a circle and different characters. Once the array is used, it is no longer effective. It can be overwritten by stronger arrays nearby and it's very draining in spiritual power.

Spiritual Communication Array

The Spiritual Communication Array is used by Heavenly Officials and ghosts alike to communicate telepathically. Knowing the passwords is required to enter group arrays and communicate in private. Ling Wen is the one in charge of the arrays of the Upper Court.

Sword Array

A type of transformation spell in which multiple people transform into one spirit body, in this case a sword. The spell can only be performed by Martial Gods and the sword's power is determined by how many of them come together. To activate the transformation the Martial Gods have to stand in a line, usually sorted by strength with the strongest standing in front. However, quarrelsome relationships can affect the spirit body's stability. Even when transformed, they can speak individually.
