Scorpion-Tailed Snake Shadow (蝎尾蛇影, Xiē Wěi Shé Yǐng) is the seventh episode of the donghua based on the Heaven Official's Blessing novel written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. It was aired on the 5th December 2020.
Summary[]
Ruoye has grabbed onto San Lang and pulled him into the sandstorm as well. Xie Lian binds them together before sending Ruoye out again, only for it to tie Nan Feng and Fu Yao together and pull them in, too. He tries one more time and the group manages to land after Ruoye grabs onto a rock, immediately seeking shelter in a cave.
They investigate the cave, thinking about who the two women might be. They couldn't be ordinary humans, so Xie Lian assumes the woman in teal might be Banyue's State Preceptor. As they go deeper, they find a caravan of merchants passing through the desert who also seeked shelter.
San Lang asks why they would travel in such deadly territory, and one of them explains that if they don't go into the ancient kingdom and have a person that knows the region, they'll be fine. Thus, Tian Sheng introduces A-Zhao, their local guide.
A while later, San Lang discovers that the stone tablet Xie Lian is sitting on actually has words on it. With his ability to decipher some Banyuenese, Xie Lian is able to determine that it's actually a tombstone for a general from Yong'an. The general in question kept getting demoted for trying to stop Yong'an and Banyue soldiers from killing each other. He ultimately died because he got trampled to death on the battlefield.
Suddenly one of the merchants spot a snake, which turns out to be a Scorpion Snake. They're not only poisonous, but are also creatures that can be controlled by the State Preceptor. After lighting up the cave, the group realizes there are many snakes within, so Nan Feng and Fu Yao fight them off while everyone rushes outside.
Uncle Zheng was stung in the chaos, passing out from the venom. He is said to die in four hours, but Nan Feng has a pill that can extend his life to about twenty-four hours. There is an antidote called the Shanyue Fern, but it can only be found in the kingdom.
Xie Lian notices a Scorpion Snake that tries to attack San Lang and grabs it, getting stung in the process. After cauterizing Xie Lian's wound, San Lang sucks out the poison himself.
Xie Lian, San Lang and Nan Feng plan to get the Shanyue Fern while Fu Yao watches over the merchants. The three take A-Zhao with them as a guide and go on their way through the desert. Once the sun has set, they finally arrive. As they walk through the streets, they notice that someone else is coming, so they all hide. The two women have returned, wondering where Xie Lian and the others went.
The woman in black comes to a stop, turning towards the building that Xie Lian and San Lang are hiding in.
