When they return home, Xie Lian's mother hugs him as she weeps. The King of Xianle isn't angry, but only mutters few words before going silent. None of them want to say anything provocative or Xie Lian would run away again.
Soon after, the two of them start to busk again. Xie Lian goes up to the stage and uses a branch to demonstrate his sword skills. Someone in the crowd yells it's boring, before Feng Xin could cuss him out, Xie Lian appears in front of the man who yelled at him and threw him meters away. Xie Lian grabs him again and says he doesn't have a sword but he can take his life away. The crowd is in shock and call for the Yong'an soldiers for help. Feng Xin forces Xie Lian to flee with him, when they return back he starts to yell at him for his unreasonable actions. Xie Lian says that blep was asking for it, after arguing for a while he goes back to his room and throws himself on to his bed.
That evening, the Queen of Xianle brings her dish to Xie Lian. She asks why Feng Xin and he was arguing, after listening to his mother long enough, Xie Lian jumps to his feet and yells at her to to involve herself in things she doesn't understand. Once again, he runs away from his home.
Xie Lian returns back with few sacks, his mother immediately apologizes to him and promises she won't ask questions ever again. After his parents left the room, Feng Xin asks what did he bring. Xie Lian opens the sack and reveals many gold and silver wares. Feng Xin is at disbelief, he asks why did he steal, which Xie Lian replies with everyone is having a hard time so it's necessary. Feng Xin says that Xie Lian has changed and asks him about the robbery incident mentioned by Mu Qing.
Xie Lian and Feng Xin get into a big argument, saying what was the point of busking and the righteous morals they've kept. Xie Lian says to him to stop following him if he doesn’t like it, thus Feng Xin left. It's a hugh relief for Xie Lian, but his parents are in shock. His father says he won't use that type of money that Xie Lian stole and asks him to bring Feng Xin back. Xie Lian ignores his request.
He sends his parents off to bed, takes a rough bath and then passes out in his bed. Tomorrow morning, he wakes up only to find out his parents committed suicide with his white silk. He tires to kill himself too in a state of madness, but his body is immortal. The white silk forms its own spirit.
The former Xianle citizens are celebrating Yong'an’s new kingdom formation, meanwhile Xie Lian is mourning his parents' death. He promises they will never know peace ever again.
