‌Man in Abyss Receives a Bamboo Hat in the Rain III (渊中人得一雨中笠, Yuān Zhōngrén Dé Yīyǔ Zhōng Lì) is the 198th chapter of the Heaven Official's Blessing novel.

Summary[]

The water merchant convinces everyone not to stab Xie Lian. Some are willing to stab him, but due to the shame of not helping him before, they stand still. The clouds are becoming darker and more dense, announcing the approach of the Human Face Disease.

Xie Lian has realized someone already took the black sword. The revengeful souls have come, he tries to drive them away but there are too many of them. They cling onto the people while wailing and howling. White No-Face is watching everything silently.

Xie Lian changes tactics and calls the souls to come to him. It's quite painful for Xie Lian to be attacked by them, but it's much better than to lose his true self.

Suddenly, they stop and go to another direction. At the end of the street, Wuming is holding the black sword he snatched from Xie Lian. He tries desperately to convince Wuming to give him the weapon, but Wuming sacrifices himself to the revengeful spirits. Xie Lian hears a blood curling scream, which he feels like he's heard before.

The souls are gone and the Yong'an citizens are lying on the ground. The black sword is also laying there with a pitiful white flower next to it. White No-Face explains joyfully that Wuming was his very last believer in this world, but now he is gone for good. White No-Face then mocks his believer for being more pathetic than Xie Lian already is.

Xie Lian tries to attack him for insulting Wuming, but White No-Face easily dodges it. Suddenly, Jun Wu descends from the sky and begins fighting White No-Face. He defeats White No-Face and then warmly welcomes Xie Lian back to the heavens. Xie Lian notices that his Cursed Shackle is gone.

However, Xie Lian asks Jun Wu to be banished again. He requests to have two shackles for his punishment, one to seal away his spiritual powers and another to give him extremely bad luck. After much convincing, Jun Wu banishes Xie Lian after having a spar, since you cannot punish a god without a good reason.

Afterwards, Xie Lian spends his days finding work. One of those days, Xie Lian sees Feng Xin's and Mu Qing's worshippers fighting on the street. Once he finishes cooking, he visits both of their temples to leave a bowl of rice, which smells so bad it even makes the bickering crowd disperse.

When leaving, he notices a small, red flower on the side of the road. He gently touches it, telling it that he hopes they shall meet again.
