Summary[]

The doctors say Honghong-er's injuries will heal without a problem, Xie Lian then leaves them to meets his parents. His mother asks him why he returned so suddenly. She then notices Qi Rong being held by Feng Xin, the King of Xianle asks Feng Xin why is he holding Qi Rong like a criminal.

Qi Rong reminds the Queen of Xianle that his arm is broken, but Xie Lian harshly cuts him and says he beat a vulnerable child. However, Qi Rong adds Hong isn’t as innocent as he seems. It took more than 6 men to capture him.

The King of Xianle orders Qi Rong to be taken care of and to be detained for a month to reflect on his actions. Qi Rong changes the subject by saying a mere servant like Feng Xin broke his arm, so he should get a punishment as well.

The King of Xianle is outraged, but Xie Lian defends Feng Xin by saying he was protecting his master and Qi Rong is at fault. His father says there’s a difference between masters and servants. No one is allowed to offend a Royal.

At the end, Feng Xin breaks his own arm and kowtows before Qi Rong three times even though Xie Lian resisted. He hates that his father upholds ridiculous social norms such as respecting royalty. Mu Qing watches the scene wordlessly.

The Queen likes Feng Xin, so she apologizes to him before leaving. Feng Xin tells Xie Lian he shouldn’t argue with his father because it makes his mother upset.

Xie Lian recalls that his aunt left the palace to elope with a bodyguard. After 5 years of their marriage and having Qi Rong, she left him due to his abusive behavior. She still loved Qi Rong, but soon lost her life. She asked Xie Lian’s mother to take care of his son before passing away.

Xie Lian checks on Honghong-er and asks him where he lives, to which the child replies he doesn’t have one. Mu Qing speaks up and says he’s lying.
