- Management: As the foremost Civil Goddess and the Heavenly Emperor's second-in-command, Ling Wen is responsible for managing heavenly personnel, which include assign missions to other officials in exchange of merits, provide them with information, handle their reports, as well as the accounts if they caused property damage.[1] She stands by the throne on every court session[2] and is usually entrusted to take charge when the Heavenly Emperor is away. In fact, her existence is so essential to the Heavenly Court that the moment she abdicated from heaven, the court seemed to fall into chaos as no other Civil God could do her job properly.[3][4][5] After she was captured, she was brought back to the Heavenly Court without any further punishment as her skills were sorely needed.[6]
- High Intellect: Ling Wen can twist any situation to her advantage in the blink of an eye, and remember every single report that passed her desk, two skills very vital at her work.[7] She is observant enough to see through a Calamity-ranked Ghost's disguise almost immediately.[8]
- Spiritual Communication Array: Ling Wen created and is in charge of the Upper Court's communication array. As a result, she seems to know everything that can be known in the three realms. The moment she abdicated, this array was taken out and caused an uproar among the Heavenly Officials.[3][4][5]
