God of Heaven Interferes in Mortal Matters (天上神袖手人间事, Tiānshàng Shén Xiùshǒu Rénjiān Shì) is the 71st chapter of the Heaven Official's Blessing novel.
Summary[]
Xie Lian is now at the Mountain Taicang, after waiting for everyone to leave the temple he hurriedly asks Guoshi why didn’t anyone say Yong'an suffered from drought. Guoshi replies that his father knows very well about the city's situation
Xie Lian is in shock, Guoshi immediately explains that he’s the one who suggested not to say anything regarding it because it’s pointless. Xie Lian says they should fix the problem, even though he’s only a martial god. Guoshi then adds it was too early for him to ascend because his people haven’t died out completely. Xie Lian didn’t forget his life as a mortal, who he doesn’t know how to differentiate the two realms.
Xie Lian rages and says he will see his father about this and he’s not powerless that he can’t solve the problem. Guoshi grabs his sleeve and reminds him about the rule where Heavenly Officials aren’t allowed to meet mortals. Guoshi says he’s seen his future and it’s pitch black. Xie Lian dismisses it and arrives at the city of Yong’an. The lands have cracks and the sun is blazing hot. Agriculture is nonexistent at this point.
Feng Xin and Mu Qing come, they share that Yong’an is having a water shortage. Feng Xin says the king tried to raise fundraisers but each checkpoint stripped an amount until there’s nothing left. Xie Lian declares he’ll make those parasites return every bit of money they stole. Mu Qing reminds him mortals’ problems aren’t his and it’s the responsibility of the King’s.
Xie Lian mentions maybe they can try divine methods, like Rain Master’s. Mu Qing says no, because everywhere in Xianle is having a water shortage. Xie Lian leaves them to think about his resolution. Mu Qing reminds him that Xie Lian can’t save everyone.
