Form Revealing Water (现形水, Xiànxíng Shuǐ) is a secret, medicinal liquid that reveals a person's true form.[1]
Description[]
The water is not poisonous and has no effect on humans should they consume it, said to taste completely ordinary. However, if a being that was not human drinks it, they will be forced to reveal their true form due to the effects of the water.[1]
Although the water has such powers, ghosts of high rank seem to be able to avoid having their true form exposed despite consuming it.[1]
History[]
As Xie Lian and Hua Cheng are sharing water in the Banyue desert, Fu Yao interrupts them. He offers Hua Cheng his own water, which Xie Lian immediately recognizes as Form Revealing Water. Fu Yao and Nan Feng wanted to use this water as an opportunity to reveal Hua Cheng's true form, as he was still disguised as San Lang at that time.[1]
Hua Cheng teases Fu Yao and asks him to drink first because he would feel bad otherwise, but he most likely knew Fu Yao was also disguised and hiding his true identity of Mu Qing. They bicker, but in the end Hua Cheng drinks the water after Xie Lian reassures him that it's not poisonous. He remains unaffected by it, which stuns Fu Yao.[1]
