Fishing For Offerings; Boor Meets Crown Prince (捞仙钱莽将遇太子, Lāo Xiān Qián Mǎng Jiāng Yù Tàizǐ) is the 69th chapter of the Heaven Official's Blessing novel.
Summary[]
The Xianle citizens cheer for Xie Lian’s eight thousandth temple of the Crown Prince of Xianle. They built many statues in the span of three years.
The King of Xianle personally unveils it in front of his people. Xie Lian is currently sitting on top of his divine statue secretly. Many are complaining about the fact they can’t prostrate, because Xie Lian forbade it. However, his people ignore his request and still kneel before his statue. They explain that they’re meant to kneel to show true sincerity.
There’s all kinds of prayers, making Xie Lian have a headache. Xie Lian always splits off a block to Feng Xin and Mu Qing to filter the prayers. He will do his duties if they’re important or in his domain as a Martial God.
Suddenly, Qi Rong comes inside the temple, making the crowd disperse. When Xie Lian ascended, he sent numerous dreams to his parents, Guoshi and only once to Qi Rong.
Qi Rong would steer trouble and it would be Feng Xin who had to go clean up for him. Qi Rong asks in his prayer for Xie Lian to come. However, Heavenly Officials aren’t allowed to do so.
Xie Lian is reminded of a time where no one played with Qi Rong because of the Royal scandal regarding his mother. When they were kids, Qi Rong wanted to write words of prayer for his mother on a lantern, so he asked other kids on how to do so. Those kids hated Qi Rong for shaming their families for the scandal, so they tricked him. Qi Rong had written: Pray My Mother and I Pass Away to the Heavens.
Xie Lian broke his lantern on the spot with fury and rewrote a new one. No one dared to mess with him ever again.
Qi Rong is about to leave the temple when he bumps into someone, it’s a young man. He asks what this place is. Qi Rong explains it’s the Crown Prince temple after cussing him. The young man then asks where the palace is, because he needs to see the king.
Qi Rong and the guards taunt him and point towards the wrong direction. The man says thanks before leaving. He crosses on the bridge over the pond but stops mid way, the man thinks for a moment before jumping into the water to scoop the coins.
Xie Lian and Feng Xin are stunned that someone would dare to steal the offerings of a God. Qi Rong rages and commands the guards to capture him. However, the young man is skilled and doesn’t get touched. The young man asks why can’t he take the coins if it’s just laying around and why can’t he use it to save someone.
Qi Rong says who he is, to which the young man answers he’s Lang Ying from Yong'an. He explains his home is suffering from a drought and everyone is starving. He asks why can’t they share some of the coins with them.
Xie Lian asks why didn’t anyone mention this problem before.
