Fallen Golden Statue; Boor Buries Suffering Son (金像倒莽将埋苦儿, Jīnxiàng Dào Mǎng Jiāng Mái Kǔ Ér) is the 70th chapter of the Heaven Official's Blessing novel.
Summary[]
Feng Xin calls Mu Qing in the Spiritual Communication Array about Yong'an’s drought.
Lang Ying explains their God won't care even if his people begged for his help. A cultivator angrily shouts if he isn’t afraid to be convicted by the heavens to insult a Heavenly Official so carelessly. Lang Ying responds that he won’t be saved, so why should he fear being punished. Qi Rong orders to hit him in the name of this prince.
Lang Ying quickly asks Qi Rong if he’s a prince and could he meet the King of Xianle. To which Qi Rong answers the ruler doesn’t have time for him. Lang Ying demands stubbornly that if neither the God nor the king has the time to hear his troubles, then who will? Do they have any idea how many people died in Yong'an while they’re throwing coins in the water?
Mu Qing appears in front of the two, Xie Lian asks him if he heard anything about Yong'an’s problems, which he answers no. After beating up Lang Ying, Qi Rong orders to lock him up in a prison. Xie Lian then knocks over the statue to distract Qi Rong and the guards to keep it from falling so Lang Ying can escape. Feng Xin and Mu Qing are in shock, since it’s a bad omen to have a statue fall. Lang Ying runs away with his satchel.
Xie Lian runs after him then stops when Lang Ying reaches a forest. Xie Lian transforms himself into a white clad cultivator. He was about to talk to Lang Ying until he sees he’s digs up dirt with his large hands. He scoops up puddled water and drinks it, Xie Lian hurriedly gives him a water bottle.
Lang Ying also drinks it and says his thanks, he explains he and his son wanted to go to the palace but he changed his mind. Lang Ying opens his satchel, revealing the dead body of a small child. Xie Lian thinks that it explains Lang Ying’s strange behavior, as if he doesn’t care about consequences anymore. It's Xie Lian first time of seeing something so horrific.
He asks how his son died, Lang Ying replies from various things. He adds he really wishes his wife could still yell at him for letting their son die. Xie Lian advises in a small voice he should bury his son. Lang Ying agrees and gets to work.
Feng Xin and Mu Qing come, but they share no words. Xie Lian gives him a red pearl, Lang Ying thanks him before taking the invaluable treasure from the Heavenly Procession ceremony.
Lang Ying leaves after saying he will visit his dead son later. Xie Lian says he’ll visit Guoshi to see the truth about their situation. Xie Lian asks the two of them to see Yong’an’s problem.
