Clothes Redder than Maple, Skin White as Snow III (衣红胜枫肤白若雪, Yī Hóng Shèng Fēng Fū Báiruòxuě) is the 15th chapter of the Heaven Official's Blessing novel.
Summary[]
The cart driver is too nervous to stay silent, so Xie Lian knocks him out. The ghosts notice something is blocking their way when they pass by, but they don't pay much attention. One ghost suddenly points out shattered ghost fires and they think it may have something to do with what blocked their way, so Xie Lian makes a run for it with the cart.
Since they're visible again, the ghosts chase after them. Xie Lian ends up at a path with two ways, using the fortune shaker to determine which way to go, but both of his sticks read the worst of bad luck. San Lang offers to try and both of his sticks read the best luck, so they choose whatever path.
The ghosts catch up to them nonetheless, confronting Xie Lian about the murdered ghost fires. They're angry at first, but suddenly become incredibly scared of something and the crowd runs off in fear.
They continue on their way and Xie Lian asks if San Lang would like his fortune read. He agrees to having his palm read and Xie Lian tells him he has a bright, successful future ahead. In reality Xie Lian has no idea about palm reading and instead uses the opportunity to determine if San Lang is human or not. Since his skin is flawless, Xie Lian thinks he may be a Supreme.
San Lang asks about his fortune in love and marriage. While Xie Lian says he's not great at predicting relationships, he think many girls must have a crush on him. San Lang asks why he thinks so, but Xie Lian notices that San Lang just wants praise.
The ox cart finally enters the village, so Xie Lian asks where San Lang will go. The latter doesn't know yet, thinking about sleeping on the streets. Xie Lian offers him to stay in his shrine overnight. San Lang takes the invitation, takes Xie Lian's bag of junk and says they should go then.
