An Evening's Discussion at NanYang (Part 1) (南阳夜话 壹, Nányáng Yè Huà Yī) is the third chapter of manhua based on a novel written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. This chapter was published on 17th of January 2020.
Summary[]
The three go to general's Nan Yang temple, where Xie Lian tells them the story about "Ghost Bridegroom". Apparently the father of one of the missing brides is offering a generous reward for anyone who finds her or catches her kidnapper. He's also the one who performed intensive rituals, which brought the Heavenly Court's attention to the matter. When Fu Yao asks how they are sure that the kidnapper is a male, a girl comes into the temple. The Heavenly Officials conceal themselves, so that they are not seen. The girl prays to general Nan Yang for protection and for the Ghost Groom to be caught quickly.
Fu Yao looks at her face, being disgusted at her ugliness and Nan Feng panics, noticing that her skirt is ripped. Xie Lian calms him down and covers her with his outer robe. She screams, surprised that she's suddenly wearing unknown clothes and takes them off, hurriedly walking away. Xie Lian doesn't give up and suddenly appears which earns him a slap and being called a "pervert". He tells her, that her dress is ripped and she squats embarrassedly. Xie Lian calmly covers the girl with his robe, telling her to please put it on. One of the helping officials asks, if Xie Lian's wounds reopened, but before he has the chance to answer, the girl suddenly runs out. The chapter ends with Xie Lian seeing blood on his fingers after touching his neck.
